Environmental Sustainability
Internationally there is a significant focus on the environmental impacts and amount of energy used in the building and operating of laboratories. As a result many projects include sustainability goals and initiatives as key success factors.
There are numerous technology options and combinations available to help you achieve your sustainable goals. Not all will be suitable for all projects, so selecting the most appropriate ones to suit both current and future requirements is a key aspect of the briefing and design process.
We have considerable knowledge on the options available, and their practical application, to enable you to make informed decisions.
We benchmark against international best practice by keeping up-to-date with the latest research and developments in technology. Our regular attendance at international conferences, including the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL), and the UK based S-Lab (Safe – Successful – Sustainable – Laboratories) initiative, also enhances our continuing professional development.
Our focus on sustainability best practice has led to Lab-works Architecture winning three international awards through the S-Lab programme.
