AgResearch’s PC2 Glasshouses won at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards on Friday, 20 November. Congratulations to the entrant Isles Construction and the project team who won the Industrial Category and received a Gold Award.

We’ve had some fun and re-named the elements on the periodic table to laboratory, architectural and scientific words. We’ve also snuck in names of our team members and clients! We hope this gives an insight to the unique vocabulary we use designing laboratories.

Lab-works Architecture, in collaboration with overall project architect Jasmax, are proud winners of two NZIA local awards. The University of Auckland’s Faulty of Engineering/Te Herenga Mātai Pῡkaha B405 was a recipient of 2020 Auckland Architecture Awards in the Education and Resene Colour categories.

This year we replaced pencils with paint brushes and spent the day revamping the boundary fence at Lower Hutt’s Te Omanga Hospice. It was a privilege to be part of the wider team of volunteers who support this wonderful organisation.

As part of the University of Otago’s refurbishment of the Science Precinct for the Department of Chemistry and the Centre for Trace Element Analysis, a new ISO Class 5 clean room facility was required for the Centre for Trace Element Analysis.
