Waimarie, Lincoln University’s flagship science facility epitomises modern scientific advancement and educational collaboration. In collaboration with Warren and Mahoney, this cutting-edge facility features research laboratories, teaching spaces, and support areas. It serves as a hub for interdisciplinary research and student learning, with a particular emphasis on land, food, and ecosystems.
The facility's design prioritises functionality and flexibility, with laboratories spread across three floors. These spaces are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including PC1, PC2, and non-PC labs, tailored to accommodate various research needs. Modular layouts enhance accessibility and encourage collaboration, while strategic colour-coding aids in navigation. Additionally, thoughtful placement of fume cupboards and a dedicated goods lift streamline laboratory operations, optimising efficiency and facilitating seamless scientific exploration.
